DESCRIPTION
Feed your biggest and most impressive plants - your trees! - with Miracle-Gro® Tree & Shrub Plant Food Spikes. These plant food spikes contain natural ingredients, and provide nutrition directly to the roots where trees need it most. In addition, these tree fertilizer spikes promote vibrant color and foliage. For use with deciduous, flowering, and evergreen trees and shrubs, these plant food spikes are also great for acid-loving plants. Apply once a season in spring and fall for best results. To use, place the enclosed plastic cap on top of the spike and drive it into the ground around the tree or shrub following the drip line (as shown in the label illustration). Remove the plastic cap and continue to drive the spike 2 inches below the soil surface. Spikes should be placed at least 3 feet apart. For small trees and shrubs with a drip line closer than two feet, insert spikes two feet away from the center of the tree or shrub. This package contains 12 Miracle-Gro® Tree & Shrub Plant Food Spikes.

When to Apply
- Apply spikes once in the spring and once in the fall when the ground is soft and moist. If the ground is dry, wet the soil before driving in the spikes.

Great for Live Oaks
I've been using Miraclegro tree spikes since we moved into our home in December 2011. As you can see from the photos our trees have grown huge and beautiful as of June 2021. Other trees in our neighborhood are the same age and don't look as nice as ours.

Really helped new maple trees
We bought a couple young Autumn Blaze Maple trees that looked to be struggling. On a whim i bought these food spikes to try. My trees were so lush and and lots of new growth after using the spikes that we are now using them regularly on our property.

Fast & easy way to insert spikes using a pick axe
I have used Miracle-Gro Spikes for many years and and am currently using them to resuscitate a weakened Japanese Maple with good success. Considering the number of spikes I use every season, I had to find a faster, less effort intensive way to insert the spikes. Finally found a solution that allows me to insert 8 spikes around the drip line of a tree in less than 5 minutes: Ensure the soil is soft and that there are no utilities or other objects buried within 6-8 inches. With legs spread wide for safety, strike the ground directly in front of you with the pick end of the pick axe where you want to insert a spike. Wiggle the pick axe to make removal easy and to widen the hole a bit. Drop spike in hole and cover with dirt. It really is that easy.

Easy Way to Fertilize Trees and Shrubs
I like this product because it is very easy to use. Simply pound in the Food Spikes using the included reusable caps. It is best to do this after a rain, when the soil is moist... or you can kind of dig a 'pilot hole' first. I use 3 or 4 around each tree.
The lawn grass obviously likes it as well because it is taller, greener and thicker around where the stake is located.
I think the best time to use these is in Late Fall, so that the nutrients are available to the tree after it awakens from winter dormancy.

Great results!!
I followed the instructions of the Miracle-Gro Tree & Shrub Plant Food Spikes for a medium sized tree I have and within a couple of weeks I started to see a difference in my tree. It looks richer and healthier than ever. I will continue to use the spikes as directed.

Sturdy Plant Spikes
I have purchased other brands of tree/bush spikes and they did not hold up when I tryed to drive them into the ground. These spikes are so sturdy and easy to use. They held up very well and did not crumble when driven into the ground like the other spikes did. I used them in the very early spring and will be using them again in the early fall. My new trees that were just planted last fall are doing very well and my established shrubs that I also used these spikes on are fuller than they were last spring. I am very happy with the results.

food spikes
i,m waiting for my plants to arrive so that i can use the the rest of the spikes. so far the ones i used i can,t really tell because it been so cold and nothing is sproting they are very easy to use.
