DESCRIPTION
Miracle-Gro® Organic Choice® Raised Bed & In-Ground Soil With Compost is crafted with organic ingredients like bone meal, alfalfa meal, kelp meal, and earthworm castings. This versatile mix is perfect for all types of plants - fruits, vegetables, flowers, herbs, trees, and shrubs. It also improves water retention, drainage characteristics, and reduces compaction in heavy soils. Using this organic soil is a breeze. When planting in a raised bed, fill it up with the soil, plant your new plants or seeds, give them a good watering, then apply mulch (optional). Five 50 qt. bags of Miracle-Gro® Organic Choice® Raised Bed & In-Ground Soil With Compost can fill a 4' x 4' x 6" raised bed. When planting in-ground, spread about 2-3 inches of product, mix into the top 4-6 inches of native soil, dig some holes, plant your plants, then apply mulch (optional). With Miracle-Gro® Organic Choice® Raised Bed & In-Ground Soil With Compost, you can grow big, beautiful plants, organically.

Excellent Products
I bought this product to amend my soil and very impressed with the consistent quality of the Miracle Gro compost products. We use both the Inground choice potting soil for our pots and bagged flowers and the raised bed compost mixed with past years soil and fertilizer additives for my vegetables, hostas and many other plants. I’ve likewise purchased these products from Costco and have not had any weeds or insect of any kind and have been using their products for years, Their products are consistently clean and uniformly excellent. I cannot relate to any of these negative posts. I have gardened for 40-45 years and have extensive gardens.
I would like to know the specific differences between the Miracle Gro Choice Moisture Control Potting Soil and the Miracle Gro Choice Raised Bed & In-Ground Soil compost?
I use both as an amendment to previous year’s soil with fertilizer supplements. Can they be interchanged?

Best Raised Bed Soil
This is some of the best soil I have seen for sale. It is beautiful dark soil, very rich. Not full of chunks of wood like most of the raised bed soil you buy. I wish I could find it for sale but no one seems to have it anymore and the Buy Now link on this website isn't working.

I am not sure yet.
I bought 24 bags of this stuff at Costco last week (March, 2025). I have been putting it in my raised beds over old dirt. As we were emptying it we started noticing thousands of little black ant looking bugs. What are these and do they harm vegetable and/flower plants? After reading some of these reviews I am worried.

Not great
This is basically fine wood mulch not great for growing anything from seed. It's very difficult to work with, clumpy and doesn't spread evenly.

Terrible Soil. Garden is a fail from it this year!
I bought 10 bags at Costco this spring and my beds and pots of vegetables are not doing well at all. I usually use the regular miracle grow but wanted to go Organic this year. It stayed wet too long and my plants suffered with early light and all of them are stunted. We are in August and my garden is a fail. No thanks too this product.

Horrible
I bought 20 bags. Mistake! Not sure how ground up plastic and trash debris in EVERY bag is "organic". Very heavy soil that holds way too much water. NOT HAPPY AT ALL!! DO NOT BUY THIS!

Gnat Infestation
I bought 10 bags of this, as it was on sale at Costco. I am very new to gardening. And when I opened each bag, I noticed so many gnats. After all the bags were in my raised bed, the gnats were unbearable. I have only bought another miracle grow soil ever, and it did not have gnats. I thought maybe this was just a part of good soil? But as I looked it up, I was wrong. And now I have to dig up all of the 10 bags I put in my raised garden bed. Waste of time and money. I don’t know if I will be gardening again after this, as I don’t want to purchase more bags of another soil and have the same thing happen.

Won't grow plants!
I bought many bags of this soil and am very disappointed in the soil quality. I filled up a raised planter I ordered to grow spinach, and the plants sprouted then stopped growing. I planted some seeds in a regular pot with regular soil, and the plants are gigantic. Not only did I lose money for the soil, seeds, and raised bed planter, my grandson who loves spinach is not able to watch "his" spinach grow.
