Do you have to replace soil in raised beds every year?
Yes, raised beds should have their soil replenished annually. Soil in raised beds settles over time and needs to be releveled. Also, adding fresh soil helps prevent compaction and adds fresh nutrients for your plants. If your existing soil looks pretty good, you may only need to add a couple of inches of fresh soil. The spring planting season is a great time time to refresh your raised beds!
Is mold in my soil bag OK?
Don't worry if you find mold in your bag of Miracle-Gro® Raised Bed Soil. Mold spores are naturally present in soils rich in organic matter. These spores thrive under moist conditions inside bags, helping decompose organic material and enrich soil. Mold and fungus are natural components in healthy soil, and can contribute to a thriving garden.
Is there a difference between garden soil and raised bed soil?
Yes! Garden Soil is denser to help plants thrive in the ground. Raised Bed soils need to be lighter. You can use a 50:50 blend of garden soil and potting mix for your raised bed, or skip the mixing with Miracle-Gro® Raised Bed Soil.

Nothing but mushrooms
I filled my raised bed gardens in April with over twenty bags. My healthy plants are almost dead. No growth in 30 days. I've tried more water, now less. All i get is lots of mushrooms.

Couldn't be happier, need to get more!
We used this product in a science fair project to see which product would be best for growing vegetables. My son chose 5 different products to plant into. native dirt, native dirt and compost mix, pebbles, paper and this miracle-gro product. We have a homeschool agriculture garden where homeschool families learn about gardening/farming, our gardens use the dirt and compost mix, so naturally my son thought that would be the best product. However, this science fair project proved otherwise. The mircale-ro product grew the largest and healthiest plant, even though only 1 of the 2 germinated. The dirt and compost mix germinted both but they didnt grow as well. We would like to get more of this product to do a full scale science class for the homeschool garden.

Worked great for me!
So many bad reviews, but I purchased many bags in 2022 and it was fantastic! Quality was great! Maybe the quality control problems have been fixed? I sure hope so, since I've been recommending this product to other family members.

great bed soil
This raised bed soil is great for the garden. We have a big garden and we love growing our vegetables in raised beds, and it was our first time using this oil, and we loved it so much. It is 100 % organic ,don't need any mixing and good for vegetables, fruits, flowers and herbs. This soil will help you grow bigger, more bountiful plants. This soil is perfect for beginners, it is light soil and not too moist. This soils is perfect for outdoor plants.

Window box soil
Used this product for my outdoor window boxes here in hot sunny florida. So far so good seems to have like a mulch already included. Retains water well but not quite as good as I had hoped. Plants grew very strong and large. After 3 months the so is still going strong, alot of bagged soils turn to sand down here in florida. I would recommend.

Good soil - no debris.
I read these reviews and felt I needed to add mine. Just put nine bags in my new raised bed, including one that had been opened and restored by the store. No debris whatsoever. I’m sure my plants will be very happy. See picture.
