Create a Pet Friendly Garden

An indoor pet garden gives cats and dogs safe, healthy plants to enjoy right at home.

Directions

1. Choose a container

Choose a wide, sturdy bowl or container, low enough for your pet to reach. Add drainage holes if needed.

a container

2. Choose a spot

Place the container in a bright area with indirect sunlight, or use a fluorescent grow light.

3. Fill with potting mix:

For transplants: Fill halfway with Miracle-Gro® Indoor Potting Mix.

For seeds: Fill until 1–2" below the rim.

4. Pay attention to plant tags and seed packets

If planting transplants, follow the spacing noted on the plant tags, then fill in the rest of the container with potting mix. If sowing seeds, follow the directions on the seed packets and keep the container out of your pet’s reach until the plants have matured.

5. Watering

Water after planting, making sure to put a saucer or tray under the container to catch drips. Keep the soil evenly moist, and remove and replace any plants if they start to decline. Remember not to use pesticides or other chemicals on your pet garden.

6. Enjoy!

Your pets get a healthy snack and you get a pet-friendly mini jungle inside your home.
